Scholarship Value/Inclusions:
AUD 15,000 annually, renewable for subsequent years of the degree after initiation, up to a total of 4 years, contingent upon sustained eligibility in accordance with the Destination Australia guidelines.
Eligibility:
Only international students applying to study at UQ’s regional Gatton campus and residing in a regional area qualify. They must possess a full offer for study in an approved program starting in 2020. Acceptance of the offer by the scholarship application deadline (1 June 2020) is not mandatory.
The following international students are eligible:
- New to UQ in 2020
- Alumni embarking on a different degree (e.g., Masters after a Bachelors)
- Maintain continual residency in the regional area throughout the scholarship duration, as defined by the Australian Statistical Geography Standard Remoteness Structure from the Australian Bureau of Statistics
- Enrolled and studying at the UQ Gatton campus
- Studying full-time in a degree exclusively delivered at UQ’s Gatton campus
- Pursuing Bachelors degree programs, Bachelors Honours degree programs, or Masters degree programs (refer to the list of eligible programs above)
- Maintain a student visa throughout the scholarship tenure.
Scholarship applicants will undergo evaluation based on four criteria: eligibility under the program guidelines, academic merit, response to the personal statement, and the Dean’s discretion.
