Berea College stands uniquely as the sole educational institution in the United States endowing 100% financial backing to all newly enrolled international scholars for their inaugural year of matriculation. In subsequent years, international scholars are mandated to set aside $1,000 annually to contribute towards their expenditures. The College extends summer employment opportunities to international scholars to facilitate compliance with this fiscal obligation.
Successful international applicants are also required to remit a $2,200 (US) deposit to affirm their enrollment. This deposit serves as a resource for certain expenses over the course of the four-year matriculation. For scholars encountering financial constraints in meeting the entire or partial deposit, supplementary financial support is accessible.
Eligibility:
Aspirants must satisfy the entry requisites stipulated by the university in their respective countries and furnish commendable results from secondary or concluding examinations. Additionally, applicants must furnish scores from one of the endorsed standardized tests: TOEFL, IELTS, SAT, ACT, or Duolingo. The minimum scores mandated for each examination are:

- IELTS: 6 overall, 5 in each category
